Another one of our back to school outfits is the fur vest and skirt with appliqued shirt. After seeing fur vests and skirts at several stores for much more than I wanted to pay I decided I’d make them for the girls instead. If you remember the warm fabric I used to make the back of Alyssa’s Paris Quilt, I had ALOT of it left over so it worked out prefect. I did buy some black for Taylor’s though since she doesn’t like pink.
The vest are lined with a fabric that they picked from my stash. Then I used some of the fabric for the appliqued flower on the shirt and I used it to help in selecting the color of the shirt.
The skirts are a pretty simple skirt with nothing fancy and they aren’t lined or anything. I was afraid they are going to be too hot but they wore them to school yesterday and Alyssa came home requesting pants to wear under it because she got cold.
I took Alyssa’s pictures last week and Taylor’s yesterday before school. Can you tell she was still half asleep?
